If you throw rusty metals directly into vinegar and let them sit for 12 hours, they will become clean. Just polishing and sharpening will be enough. Wooden parts can be restored in the same way.

Just came across this vid & comments--haven't seen any of your other vids, but wanted to say this---keep doing what you're doing & don't let perfectionist, egotistical, overly critical, whiny little b!tches deter you from doing this. Folks don't consider a multitude of things before criticizing 1. no one way is the right way, regardless of the finished product 2. There's no rules on how any restoration vid proceeds w/ the restoration--if there were, all resto vids would look exactly the same (god I'm so tired of seeing ppl piss their pants when someone uses a sandblaster--it's not THAT awesome unless it's an asmr thing--but god forbid you use tweezers to scrape some paint--which potentially could've been an asmr thing bc of the sound!! 3. Just bc a commenter knows how to do some particular thing you may not have, it doesn't make them a genius, a mechanic, a "restorer" or that their attempts would've turned out better than yours. I'm not any of these, don't do resto's, but watched enough vids to give advice & opinions too--doesn't mean mine would look better or that my opinions are constructive or valid! 4. Not all restorers have the tools or money to go purchase all the fancy gadgets used to do resto's, so maybe they had to use what was available to them--again, nothing wrong with that either. It'd be like telling someone they shouldn't be painting bc they don't have multiple brushes, a particular brand of paint, or a huge array of art supplies. 5. Every attempt at making any thing look better than it did, especially when it wasn't working or in decent condition in the first place, is another attempt to practice and get better--& that says more than half the folks who're rude, complaining about every thing you did--especially when 99% of them don't do resto's & probably never have. As long as you're enjoying what you're doing, that's all that matters (bc most ppl are so miserable that they don't even realize how miserable they are--they just project their lacking ability to regulate their emotions onto others--that's easier for most ppl than actually doing self-analysis & awareness. At least you're not faking every item you restore by making it rusty --what's ironic is most of the folks being overly critical probably watch those folks vids & criticize too, when the better thing to do would be to unsubscribe or not view it--they're like, "you faked that, but I'm still stupid enough to watch & put money in your pocket"...which completely negates their bitching in the first place!!! Take care & I look forward to watching more resto's!
